What does it mean to be a CPA?

Being a CPA means so much more than just taxes. The training to become a Certified Public Accountant includes training in the areas of Financial Accounting and Reporting, Auditing, Taxes and Business law. All four of these areas were sections of the rigorous exam taken over two full business days and passed (on the first attempt) by Randy Clark.

Being a CPA means being the most well-rounded business professionals around, who can guide you through your toughest challenges, enhance your operational efficiency and analyze your business to help you plan for the future.

As a CPA, Randy Clark is required to take Continuing Professional Education (CPE) of 120 hours every 3 years, or 40 hours annually, in order to maintain the license that allows him to call himself a CPA. When you’re working with Randy Clark CPA, you know you’re working with a professional who is committed to ongoing excellence and exceptional client service. CPE is just one way of keeping up with the continual changes in the tax code and the general business environment. Lots of people call themselves accountants, but it means something more to be a CPA. Enrolled Agents and other tax preparers have not gone through the same testing program and have far less continuing education required of them.

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants represents the CPA profession nationally regarding rule-making and standard-setting, and serves as an advocate before legislative bodies, public interest groups and other professional organizations. The AICPA’s founding established accountancy as a profession distinguished by rigorous educational requirements, high professional standards, a strict code of professional ethics, a licensing status and a commitment to serving the public interest.

Randy Clark is proud to be a member of the AICPA and the Washington Society of CPAs.
